In a context of limited resources, the FURIES team is trying to think of ways to grow without necessarily doing so in terms of volume of shows or number of days of the event. Instead, we’re thinking about growth in qualitative terms, and in particular in terms of the different aspects of our relationship with the various target groups for our activities: audiences, artists and cultural players.
Since 2024, the International Section of FURIES has enabled local audiences to appreciate international works right here in the Gaspé. Not only is this component an opportunity to discover avant-garde signatures emerging on the international scene, it is also an exceptional showcase for Gaspésie: while artists are accustomed to presenting their work in urban centers, FURIES gives them a rare opportunity to discover rural Québec and its audiences fond of artistic audacity.
This program is supported by the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec and Radio-Gaspésie.
The Volet Relève supports the participation of two up-and-coming dance artists at FURIES by offering them a free full passport to the festival, as well as a contribution towards transportation and meals. A true creative hub and exceptional showcase for contemporary dance from here and abroad, FURIES is a highly prized event for up-and-coming dancers! Discover the two artists selected this year.
Supported by La danse sur les routes du Québec.
With an itinerary tailor-made for young people, the Volet Découverte is based on fruitful collaborations between FURIES and dance schools and community organizations in the Gaspé and Eastern Quebec regions, offering a favorable context for encountering dance in its many forms.
The PRO Component of FURIES 2025 offers a day of exchange and reflection dedicated to players in the arts milieu, with workshops, meetings and discussions on current dance issues. Artists, presenters and cultural workers share their expertise and explore new collaborations. It’s a unique opportunity to connect and inspire the future of dance in Gaspésie and beyond.
