Twinning is an ode to imitation. The strange comfort, the lightness of the void, arrows pointing which way to go, the strength of others. The hypnotic and disorienting duo made of street dancers Kalliane Brémault ‘Yofi’ and Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep ‘Promo’ wavers between synchronicity and its rupture, between rebound and spiral, between homage and satire.

Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, aka Promo, grew up immersed in Montreal’s breaking community. He became a member of the Sweet Technique group, with whom he participates in many competitions, further developing his talents. To date, he has chalked up over thirty victories and is frequently invited to take part in competitions around the world, either as a participant or as a judge. Now a member of the structure for choreographers Lorganisme, he creates stage works featuring artists from diverse artistic communities. His works have been presented by, among others, the FTA, FURIES, La Chapelle, The Citadel, and the Agora de la danse. In 2022, he received the Jacqueline-Lemieux Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to dance in Canada.
Born in Winnipeg, into a family of musicians, Kalliane Brémault, aka Yofi, is a dancer, workshop facilitator, movement director, choreographer and event organizer. From age 5, she dove into hip-hop music, learning breaking at age 7, then hip-hop, popping and house in her teenage years. In 2017, she moved to Toronto to pursue her career and is now based in Montreal. Kalliane has worked for notable street dance companies/choreographers (Ebnfloh, Tentacle Tribe, Lady C), cochoreographed with Rebels de la Soul for Breakin’ Convention, acted and danced in Netflix, Disney and Cirque Éloize productions. Kalliane continues to perform, battle and train internationally.
